Viva Las Vegas

So Wendy and I have been friends for more than half my life. Amazing as it may seem, it's hard for me to remember a time when we weren't friends. We started hanging out when I turned 13 and we became the best of friends shortly after that.
Wendy has been with me through every good, bad, happy and sad moment in my life and I feel lucky to have her as a friend.
For whatever reason, she has put up with me all this time and our friendship seems to continue to grow over the years.
She is always someone I can depend on and turn to no matter what. and even though the hair cuts and colors may change and the clothing may be a little better now, I still know that no matter what I can call her any time and she will be there for me.
It's so great to have a friend like that.

Wendy called me up about 2 months ago and told me that Garth Brooks was performing again in Vegas. We were so excited. I don't know any 2 people who would find that more exciting than we did. Garth Brooks was basically the background music of our teenage years together. Every one of his songs brings back some memory of our friendship and time together. Neither of us could think of someone we would rather go with to his concert than the other person. Only the two of us together could appreciate it enough to spend the time and money to go to him in concert.
So Wendy began making the plans and before I knew it we were going to Vegas to See Garth Brooks in Concert!! I was soooo excited.

We fly in early Saturday and started our adventure by renting a car and heading out on our own. Now since I have lived in Vegas before it didn't take too long to get back in the groove. We decided it would be fitting to start our adventure with a trip to the boot barn. We spent about a half hour or so shopping when we finally decided that we didn't have to look the part just to go to the concert. So our stop was in vain, but it was fun anyway.
As the day progressed The excitement built. I couldn't wait for the concert.

Garth was Amazing. This is how he showed up on stage. No cowboy hat, no cowboy boots, and no band. Just Garth in jeans a sweatshirt and a baseball hat. Nothing but him and his guitar. It was incredible. He is so talented and funny. I wouldn't have wanted the concert any other way. I am sure that back in his hay day it would have been great to see him in some big arena with all the sound and props, but I am so glad that I got to experience his music like this. Raw, just him and his guitar, so amazing. I actually cried a few times as I listened to the songs that had had such an influence on my life when I was growing up. I felt like I was in his living room just hanging out with him. The concert lasted two and a half hours. Can you believe that? He just kept playing and you could tell that he loved it as much as we did. If he was tired it sure didn't show. I would see him in concert again any day. It was so worth the money spent!!!

We only stayed in Vegas two nights. We flew in Saturday moring and flew back to Utah on Monday night, but we had fun. We did a lot of touristy stuff but we had fun doing it.

Wendy had never been to Hoover Dam before so I had to take her. I think it is an amazing site.

The new bridge they are building is terrifying. I don't know if I would be able to drive across it.

The traffic to the dam moved pretty slow. But there were some great signs along the way to keep us entertained.

We also visited the Las Vegas temple. I think it is so beautiful.

I was very excited to go to my favorite Mexican food place in Vegas called Macayos. If you are ever there you should go, it is great Mexican. I wish there were place like that around here.

We also went to the pawn shop from the show Pawn stars on the history channel. That was a lot of fun. I think that was the only picture that Robbie was actually interested in since taht is one of his favorite shows to watch. We would've gone in but the line was pretty long and it didn't look like it was moving at all. But just going there was fun.

All in all it was a short but fun trip to Vegas with my best friend. and I was so happy that we got to spend the time together!!!!

IT's Been a Long Long Time

So I know it's been forever since I posted anything but now seemed as good a time as any to start back up again. I just got home from visiting my family in Utah. It is always so wonderful to see them and to spend time laughing and enjoying each others company. I had a lot of fun just hanging out with my family. Finally a trip home where there was nothing stressful that I was coming home for, no wedding, funerals or holiday's to worry about. It was just a nice chill time with my family.
Fritz stayed in NY at the farm while I was gone. I don't think he had been all that happy for me to be back really. I think he misses all the action on the farm. The farm is like heaven for a dog. He can run without a leash until his heart is content and there is always something to chase or to sniff out of somewhere. Robbie and Fritz became great pals while I was gone. From what I understand Fritz almost managed to kick Robbie off his own bed when they went to sleep at night.
I was happy to find that Fritz did miss me though. He seemed very excited to have me back and he has had a hard time letting me out of his sight since I've been back home. That's not to say that he doesn't still love Robbie though. When Robbie is not here he spends most of his time looking out the window waiting for him. What a rough life, why can't he just have the two of us together all of the time. He is so spoiled though. Robbie's family had a hard time letting him come back home. It's hard not to fall in love with Fritz he's just such a sweet dog.
Now that I've been home for a bout a week I'm, starting to get back into the groove of things. But I have to admit I do miss my family!! It was so wonderful to spend time with them again!!!
