My Gramps

My trip home was wonderful but it was also hard. I went out for a funeral. My Gramps died. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life. I am very lucky, I had all my grandparents for most of my life. Not only were they alive, but they were a part of my life. Grammie and Gramps were there for every important thing in my life. I can't remember a time when they weren't there for me. Gramps was never big on conversation, but he had so much love for his family. I remember all the countless trips to "Smith and Edwards, country boy store". Those trips were great. We would come home with so much candy. I also remember him being there for Grammie no matter what. When she was the primary president he would drive around each Sunday and pick up any kids who didn't have a ride to church. He was always doing something for someone else. There were many times when he would go grocery shopping for the older people in the park that couldn't get out and do it themselves. We had some great times. Once when I was a kid he even went with me to a backwards daddy daughter night. Dad was out of town on business and Gramps stepped up and went with me.
Gramps also loved country music, especially the old stuff. When I was about 10 years old he made me my own copy of the song "once in love with Amy". He would sing that to me each time he saw me. To this day it is still one of my favorite songs. As I've gotten older I have learned to really enjoy a lot of the old country music heloved. Gramps was so proud of his collection of 8 track tapes and his old records. In the last 6 or so years it has been my mission to find any old 8 track country albums I can and send them to him. You know they never cost more than $1.00 but he loved them. You would've thought they were worth a lot more than that to hear him talk about them. He would play his old "dinosaurs" for anyone and everyone who came by the house. I feel so blessed to have had so many wonderful years with him in my life. He will be missed. I love him. Here is a video that Chad and I put together that was played at his funeral.

Fun in Utah

So it's been a while since I posted anything. But sometimes it just seems like there is nothing worth while to write about. But I finally have new pictures and stuff to write about so now I guess I will post something.

I got to go out to Utah and be with my family for a week. Gramps passed away on May 17th and I was able to go out to Utah for the funeral. I am sad about the reason, but happy for the time I got to spend with my family.

You don't realize how much you miss everyone until you are with them again. Clayton is talking a bit now and it was so fun to hear him say "Aunt Amy" I had so much fun with him. Ella is so cute she has got such a mischievousness about her. She is such a tease and you can tell she loves it. I also got to meet my new nephew Hyrum (Craig and Emily's new little one). He is so sweet, I got hold him through most of church, Nana was so jealous!!!!

Isn't Hyrum so cute!!! He's such a happy baby!!

We spent the day at the Zoo! We had a lot of fun, there weren't too many animals that were actually awake, but Clayton and Ella didn't seem to mind too much! We all had a lot of fun. I am so glad that we spent the day together.

Julie is such a good aunt.
